His doctoral dissertation explored an elastic constitutive model of spacetime and its applications to General Relativity and Cosmology, applying principles from solid mechanics to understand how the structure of space affects gravitational phenomena. Since 1996, Tichomir has held top software engineering positions at technology companies such as VMware and currently Google, where he serves as a Sr Staff Software Engineer. Since 2014, Tichomir has been actively involved in the Creation Science community, publishing papers, and presenting at creation conferences, local schools, and churches.
