Biography

Carissa Shipman earned a B.S. in Biology at Temple University, a M.S. in Biology: Marine Biology from San Francisco State University, and a Professional Educator Certification from the University of West Florida. She is a trained marine biologist who specialized in the taxonomy of nudibranch, sea slugs at the California Academy of Sciences. She has pursued marine biodiversity, marine natural products, and marine conservation work in the Philippines. She enjoys grant writing and has been successful at earning grants from the National Science Foundation and National Institute of Health. She has been a tutor and educator in Christian high schools and an Assistant Professor and Visiting Assistant Professor at Clarks Summit University and Huntington University. Her mission field has been educating students about the scientific evidence for creation and the Shroud of Turin with the goal of building their faith in Jesus Christ. Her interests in creation science include ancient DNA (aDNA) and contributing to the sequencing and discovery of the first dinosaur aDNA.
