Dr. Change Tan is a Professor in the School of Natural Sciences and Mathematics at Missouri Baptist University (2024–present) and founder and investigator of the Forest of Life Research and Education Center in Missouri (2022–present). She previously served at the University of Missouri as an Assistant and Associate Professor in the Division of Biological Sciences and in the Genetics Area Program and as an investigator at the Life Sciences Center.

He earned a B.S. in Chemistry from Hunan Normal University (1985), an M.S. in Organic Chemistry from Nankai University (1988), and a Ph.D. in Biochemistry from the University of Pennsylvania (2000). He was a postdoctoral fellow in the Department of Genetics at Harvard Medical School from 2001 to 2005.

His research interests include the origin of life, the origin of biodiversity, relationships among organisms, molecular biotechnology method development, reproduction (especially gametogenesis), and signal transduction.

He is co-author, with Robert Stadler, of The Stairway to Life: An Origin-of-Life Reality Check (2020). His refereed articles include work in Development, Nature Biotechnology, BIO-Complexity, Answers Research Journal, and Journal of Creation.

He has spoken at Logos Research Associates gatherings and creation-science conferences, and he teaches and leads worship at St. Louis Chinese Baptist Church.
